You can ride the subway simply by tapping a credit card or other payment card equipped with contactless functionality on the dedicated reader installed at the ticket gate. Just tap and pass through the gate—no ticket purchase required.

Maximum Fare Service (Unlimited Rides)

● Applicable Time : 1 day (from 3:00 a.m. to 2:59 a.m. the following day)
● Maximum Fare : Weekdays — Adult ¥830
 Weekends, Holidays, and New Year period (days when the Donichika Pass is valid) — Adult ¥520
※ Once the maximum fare is reached, no additional charges will be applied for the rest of the day, and you can ride unlimitedly. No prior procedures are required.

  • This service is valid only for the Sapporo Municipal Subway and cannot be used on other transportation systems.
  • Even if the card number is the same, different media—such as plastic cards, smartphones, smartwatches, or ring‑type devices—will not be combined into a single daily fare total. Please be aware of this when using multiple devices.
  • Only adult fares apply. Child fares, welfare discounts, and transfer discounts are not available with this service.

How to Ride Using Contactless Payment

Ticket Gates Supporting Contactless Payment
Gates that support contactless payment are marked with a sticker on the reader, and a guidance sheet is placed on the floor in front of the gate. The blue floor sheet serves as an easy‑to‑spot indicator.

How to Use Contactless Payment
【Entering the Station】
The contactless reader is located at the frontmost part of the ticket gate. Please tap your credit card or other compatible payment device directly on the reader.
When tapping, keep your card or device on the reader until the LED lights above and below the reader change from blue to green.
Once the LED turns green and the reading is complete, a confirmation message will also appear on the gate’s display screen.

【Exiting the Station】 As with entering, please tap the same credit card or payment device you used at entry on the contactless reader.
Be sure to use the exact same card or device that you tapped when entering the station.
When tapping, keep your card or device on the reader until the LED lights above and below change from blue to green.
Once the LED turns green and the reading is complete, the fare amount will be displayed on the gate’s screen.

One‑Day Subway Pass (Cash Only)

For weekday travel, the Subway One‑Day Pass (¥830) is the best value.
For weekends and holidays, the Donichika Pass (¥520) offers an even better deal.
Both passes can be purchased at subway station ticket machines on the day of use.

Transfer Between the Namboku Line and the Toho Line at Sapporo Station

When transferring between the Namboku Line and the Toho Line at Sapporo Station, you must exit through the ticket gate once.
After exiting, please re‑enter within 30 minutes.
If more than 30 minutes pass, the transfer will be treated as a new ride, and an additional fare will be charged.
