AOAO SAPPORO is a highly accessible aquarium located in the heart of Sapporo, open from 10 AM to 10 PM. The aquarium is divided into three conceptual floors. It offers a variety of experiences, including exhibits of penguins and fish, behind-the-scenes tours of the aquarium, digital art that recreates the world of the ocean, and displays of books related to marine life. Visitors can enjoy a multifaceted experience exploring the relationship between people and water.
AOAO SAPPORO Gourmet
A bakery and bar that focuses on Hokkaido-produced ingredients, offering authentic options. You can enjoy light snacks such as croissants, as well as sweets and alcoholic beverages. The popular “Shime Parfait,” a Sapporo specialty sold exclusively at night, offers a different seasonal flavor each time. Since all floors of the building are designated for dining, you can savor drinks and croissants while admiring your favorite aquariums.
WONDER TIME
“Wonder Time” is a special time where visitors can not only appreciate the charm of the creatures living in the aquarium but also observe the work of the staff who manage and care for them.

Water Circulates
A mystical showtime that visualizes the water cycle caused by rain, fog, and wind occurring in the deep forest.

Northern Rockhopper Penguins
Two to three times a day, the staff in charge of the animals conduct health checks. You can observe their feeding and energetic "hopping" behavior.

Moonlight Aquarium
After 5 PM, AOAO SAPPORO transforms into a mystical atmosphere, enveloped in "moonlight." You can observe the creatures as they sleep, and spend a tranquil time by the water, enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Is photography allowed inside the facility?
Photography for personal enjoyment is allowed. However, photography for commercial or profit-making purposes is not permitted.
Additionally, for the protection of the animals and the safety of the facility,
① Flash photography and the use of additional lighting are prohibited.
② Photography that causes inconvenience to other visitors, such as loud noises or occupying spaces, is not allowed.
③ Photography using tripods or other filming equipment is not allowed.
We kindly ask that you refrain from doing so.

It is possible to share on social media, but there are a few points to note.
① Please refrain from posting images that may invade the privacy of other visitors or staff members who are unrelated to the photographer.
