Hakodate city is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Japan.
Some people say the night view from Mt. Hakodate is the most beautiful in the world, and historical western-influenced buildings create an exotic atmosphere in Motomachi area where you can enjoy the sceneries in the end of Edo period and Meiji era (in the latter half of the 19th century).

Nanae-cho is a town, about 16km north and about a 25 minute drive from Hakodate city. For a long time, it was known as a scenic picturesque spot. The town has much scenic beautiful nature let alone Onuma Quasi-National Park, one of the three new famous beautiful locations of Japan. The change in the color of nature in the 4 seasons in Onuma Lake and Mt. Kokagatake heals the hearts of tourists. You can enjoy cycling or walking along to the lake in the vast nature. Shikabe-cho is about a 30 minute drive from the Hokkaido Shinkansen New Hakodate Hokuto Station. Adjacent to the beautiful nature of Onuma Semi national Park and exceedingly high mountain Mt. Komagatake, the fishery is prosperous, facing the volcanic bay of the Pacific which is abundant in seafood such as scallop, octopus, kombu, and walleye pollack. Mori-machi is a nature-rich town close to Mt. Komagatake in Hokkaido and Uchiura Bay which are landmarks of the Southern Hokkaido district.
